“Elements” is a five-concert series, with each concert curated by one of our members. Each member has the choice to program music that they like, music that speaks to their individual identities or "roots," or, in keeping with our mission statement, music that has been unjustly forgotten or ignored. Program highlights include works by living, BIPOC, women and genderqueer/LGBTQ+ composers from Pittsburgh, this country, and the world. We will present these concerts at the First Unitarian Church in the East End. The performers will be our core musicians (who will also be curating one concert apiece) — Brittany Trotter (flute), David Fitzpatrick (oboe), Amaury Morales (piano), Ryan Leonard (clarinet), and Francisca Wright (bassoon), We will be joined by additional string, horn, and harp players local to Pittsburgh, as the repertoire demands.
Mission Statement
The Incidental Chamber Players is a music collective focused on reviving hidden gems in the chamber music repertoire. Performing works that are unjustly forgotten or rarely heard, I.C.Players create ‘incidental’ programs threaded together by their woodwind identity. The collective is a core of woodwind players working with collaborators to produce an immersive concert experience.
